Can charities and non-profits use CrowdJustice?
Yes. Registered charities and non-profits can raise money for legal cases and legal projects.
Can we claim Gift Aid on CrowdJustice donations?
Yes, if your charity is eligible for Gift Aid, you can turn it on when you set up your case page.
When someone donates, we ask if they’re a UK taxpayer. If they are, we collect their Gift Aid declaration. You can claim Gift Aid on donations from these backers.
Getting your Gift Aid report
About 7 working days after a successful campaign ends, we’ll email you a Gift Aid report. It’s in the format HMRC needs, so you can upload it straight to HMRC online.
You’ll need a Charities Online account with HMRC to do this.
For data protection reasons, we only send reports to:
the charity linked to the campaign
the person whose email was used to set up the campaign
If you haven’t received your report after 10 working days, or if you have any questions, please contact us.
Can we collect supporter data to add to our mailing list?
Yes. You can invite supporters to join your mailing list when they pledge. If they opt in, we’ll email you their details after your campaign ends.
