Launching a campaign on CrowdJustice involves a sequence of important steps to ensure all compliance and legal requirements are met, and that campaign approvals are properly confirmed. Follow the guidance below to ensure your campaign is ready to go live.
Go to CrowdJustice.com and click on the ‘Need Funding’ button to begin setting up your campaign.
1. Complete Initial Campaign Setup
To begin the process, ensure that your crowdfunding campaign is fully set up within the CrowdJustice platform. You will have a draft of your campaign page to review and finalise. Once reviewed, confirm your approval for the draft by clicking 'Submit'. Make sure to include comprehensive details about your case, such as its purpose and urgency, and the information about the lawyer representing you.
Additionally, in collaboration with your lawyer, prepare essential materials such as a case summary, clear goals and objectives, and an estimate of costs and required funding. These preparations will ensure the campaign page provides a comprehensive overview, building trust and clarity for potential donors.
2. Fulfil Due Diligence and Compliance Requirements
Before your case can go live, CrowdJustice requires the completion of all Due Diligence and Compliance checks. Ensure that:
All required information is accurately provided.
Your lawyer’s details are added to your case page.
You have uploaded your photo ID
The lawyer is officially instructed or willing to represent you conditionally upon the success of fundraising efforts.
The law firm will also need to verify with Stripe, CrowdJustice's FCA-regulated payment processor, and complete required AML (Anti-Money Laundering) checks.
CrowdJustice will reach out to your lawyer to confirm that they are instructed or potentially instructed, subject to the necessary funding being secured. If there are delays in receiving lawyer confirmation, it may be due to their pending actions, such as completing certain compliance steps or clarifying specific details requested by the platform.
The lawyer confirmation of instruction is a mandatory step in the process. If your lawyer has not yet provided their confirmation, kindly contact them to expedite this step. CrowdJustice will verify that your lawyer agrees to represent you and can accept the raised funds as part of this step.
It is important to note that initiating a campaign without this written confirmation is not permitted and could result in delays or rejection by CrowdJustice. These delays may extend the campaign's timeline or require resubmission of compliance information. To avoid setbacks, address pending requirements promptly and maintain open communication with both CrowdJustice and your lawyer.
3. Confirm Lawyer Approval
We may require case page approval from your lawyer. Once they have reviewed the case page contents and provided confirmation to CrowdJustice, further steps will be taken to progress the campaign to live status.
4. Final Approval and Launch
After ensuring that all elements, including lawyer instruction confirmation and compliance checks, are complete, CrowdJustice will launch your campaign (subject to you having 'submitted' it. However, if the platform review identifies any outstanding issues, such as incomplete compliance information or necessary edits, your campaign may remain in review temporarily. Promptly addressing feedback can help minimise delays.
Note that CrowdJustice campaigns are not launched automatically. Instead, the CrowdJustice team must manually approve the launch for the agreed-upon time. This ensures that the launch aligns with your campaign strategy and readiness. If you have a specific launch time in mind, communicate this clearly with the CrowdJustice team to coordinate effectively.
By following these steps, you can smoothly navigate the process of making your case live on the CrowdJustice platform. These guidelines ensure that all required legal and procedural requirements are properly addressed, paving the way for a successful campaign launch.
Launch Strategy and Timing Considerations
While the specific day or time of launching your campaign generally does not matter hugely (especially if your case page will remain live for several weeks), there are strategic elements to consider. The most critical factor is having some initial backers ready to contribute as soon as the campaign goes live. Early contributions help build momentum and encourage others to support your cause.
Best Practices for a Successful Campaign Launch
Coordinate with the CrowdJustice Team: Ensure that the launch time is agreed upon and that all necessary preparations are complete.
Prepare Initial Backers: Reach out to a group of supporters who can contribute immediately upon launch to create early traction.
Focus on Momentum: Use the initial contributions to generate interest and encourage wider participation. By following these guidelines, you can maximize the impact of your CrowdJustice campaign from the very beginning.
